Mission Accomplished
Thanks to generous donations by some amazing people, my mother and father were able to take a walk down to our local Westpac bank on the 16th of December 2009 and place a deposit of $26,000 or 221,906,525 Indonesian Rupiah.
We are yet to hear if the bus has been purchased, but with an extra $1000 dollars sent over, the boys home certainly have the money to do so, and we believe the officers are in the process of purchasing the 14 seater bus.
I would just like to thank everyone for their great support, donations and prayer.
Much Love

$2000 More Before Christmas
It has been a while but I have an update of both sad but then great news as well. On our family's most recent trip to the Boys Home in October, we were hit with the news that the bus has been increased to the price of $25,000, $5,000 more then we had thought. BUT thanks to the generosity of all our supports I am proud to announce that we have made it up to $23,000 just $2,000 away from being able to send a new bus down that driveway at the Denparsar Boys Home. We are aiming to reach this total before Christmas.
Thank you to all that have donated and encouraged our efforts, we are truly grateful.
God Bless

Quiz Night
We had a great night at the Quiz Night raising $3,200.00
Me thanking everyone for such a great evening
a room full of intelligence
our wonderful neighbours serving supper
the brains trust table
Our Quiz Night has been a success.
It was a great night and we were able to reach our $10,000 target by making $3,200 on the night. It was a very cool feeling and lots of people were involved in this success. I'll upload some photo's of the night and one of yours truly making a speech. Thanks if you are reading this and have been a sponsor and thanks if you have pledged your support. We had around 100 people come along to Concordia College on this night. Fantastic prizes, really great questions and a super Indonesian supper provided by the Indonesian church and served by our neighbours. I worked with Wendy Beardsell a friend of my mum's and she was a great mentor, and a cool encourager. I was wrapped to have Simon Watson come along and be the quiz master - he was really great. He even had his friend come along to be the scorer - thanks to them both.
Thanks everyone, I've reached target and now intend to see how much businesses and people would like to contribute so that we can take enough money to the boys home in October to buy a bus for them.. How great.
Thanks Heaps

March
Its the end of March and only a few months away 'til my family and I have the privilege, to again, walk through those rusty gates and see the smiles on those children's faces, BUT there still is a lot of work to go with our big upcoming
Quiz Night on the 20th of June and further more work on reaching our goal of $10,000 for the bus for the Boys.
This month has been a great milestone in our goal hitting beyond the half way mark. We have nearly raised the total to $6000 for the bus in the matter of a few weeks. We have just recently purchased two huge washing machines for the Boys Home. Big thanks to Wendy for her massive effort in the purchasing of these washing machines. As you are able to see in the photo Captain Nengah could not wipe the smile off his face. An essential in our western society such a bonus in the lives of these boys.
We also would like to extend our thanks to the Hughes (Parkside) Dental Clinic on Unley Road who have kindly donated goods for our upcoming quiz night. Thanks to everyone at the clinic especially Dr. Steve for his big part in this. We would also much appreciate if anyone else would be able to donate gifts, for prizes or for the silent auction that is planned. These items would be most helpful towards making the quiz night as most successful and enjoyable for everyone. We hope to raise at least $2,500.00 from this effort.
